“Ye also helping together by prayer for us…” 2 Corinthians 1:11
The advancement of the Gospel is based on more than just good preaching. Great preachers realize that it takes prayer to “trigger” the anointing of God that is on their lives to make the Word of God real to others. They also realize that they cannot do all of the praying by themselves and then preach, too. It works best when all of the saints realize that when they pray for the ministry, they are providing much needed help. The apostle Paul understood this and on numerous occasions coveted the prayers of the saints. He knew that he needed help in pushing doors open for the Word to be received. He knew that he needed help to get the eyes of people open to where they would receive the Word of God. It is no different today. Preachers need help through the prayers of the other members of the body of Christ.
