OCTOBER 25

Sowing In Famine

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.” Genesis 26:12

Kingdom principles, if we will look at them closely, will always be in exact opposition to carnal thinking. One would not naturally think that a time of famine; a time of shortage would be the time to sow seed and expect a harvest. The carnal mind would reason that this is a time to store up and keep everything to oneself because surely starvation and “not enough” is right around the corner. However, when we see how the kingdom of God operates, that it operates on seed plant and harvest, it doesn’t seem like a strange thing to sow in famine and to expect a harvest. If you are dealing with what seems to be a time of famine in your life, whatever you do, DON’T STOP SOWING SEED! Look for something to give away; find something to sow into the life of someone else. Find a way to be a blessing; be creative. Then, on purpose, believe God to do His part in multiplying your seed sown and increasing the fruits of your righteousness.
