“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 2
Many of us have found out that it is the will of God for our physical bodies to be healed. But did you know, that is not the end result – it is not God’s best? He wants us to live healthy lives. We must recognize that the road to healthy living for a Christian is a process. It begins when we find out from the Scriptures that God wants to heal us. We receive the Word of Isaiah 53:5 and 1 Peter 2:24 as true. We learn to keep the Word on healing in our thoughts and we learn to speak it out of our mouths. We learn to take words and terms of sickness and disease and fear out of our vocabulary. Whenever symptoms of sickness or disease arise, we attack them with the Word of God spoken from our lips. The next step in the process is one that many never find their way to because, as a whole, the body of Christ (let alone the world) has yet to fully realize the responsibility that we have to study and commit to areas of healthy living. We must learn how to be stewards over these bodies and govern what we eat, how we eat, how we exercise, what we drink and how we are to supplement our diet with wholesome things. It is this area called the wisdom of God for walking in health. We continue to receive the Word and confess it. But now we add to it the principle of acquiring the knowledge that it takes to live a healthy life. Don’t settle today for just being healed; stay in the process that God has designed for every one of us and aim at living a healthy life.
