OCTOBER 21

Receive and Then Give

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4

Our Father is the Source of ALL consolation, help, encouragement and aid. Whenever we face difficult times, no matter what area of life it may be, the Father is there to encourage and exhort us, if we will receive. Isn’t that wonderful? However, as we travel along life’s pathway there is an important lesson that we must learn. We must be sensitive to the Father’s desire for us to minister to others in the same way that He has ministered to us. We should catalogue (if not on paper, at least in our own hearts) the times that we have gone through and how the Father has shown us His mercies, consolation, encouragement and help so that when we see others experiencing the challenges that we have already gone through we can do for them what the Father has done for us.
