Humble Yourself
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.” 1 Peter 5:6, 7
Many of us have probably never looked at being worried, careful or anxious as being prideful, however, that is some of what these verses from the Bible are telling us. Worrying and being anxious, in the Father’s eyes is a form of pride. When we cast all of our cares, anxieties and worries over on the Lord, we are humbling ourselves under His mighty hand. We are letting the Lord know that we are submitting ourselves to Him and the way that He promises to help us in whatever that situation may be. The Father does not want us to be anxious about things that He wants to do for us. If you are in pride today because of being anxious and trying to handle things your own way, humble yourself right now under His mighty hand so that He can lift you up above whatever you are allowing to cause you anxiety. Simply pray, “Jesus, please forgive me for being anxious about what the Father has promised me that He would take care of for me. I receive my forgiveness right now and I thank you for it. Now Father, in the Name of Jesus I cast all of my anxieties over on you now because You care for me. I receive Your help and the answers that come from You. Thank You for looking out for me! In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
