Fellowship Is Important
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life forevermore.” Psalm 133:1-3
One of the most selfish things that I have heard from fellow Christians over the years is, “I don’t need to go to church. I can pray and worship God at home all by myself”, or some reasonable facsimile. The Scriptures teach us that our fellowship with each other in church and out of church is vital to our being able to fulfill God’s purpose for us. One of the most important things that arise out of our fellowship with one another is the manifesting of God’s anointing on us as the body of Christ. Just as the members of our physical bodies were not designed to function alone, so we as members of the body of Christ were not meant to try to function alone. As we continually come together with our worship, gifts, talents, callings, resources, etc. the greater the potential for God to manifest Himself to us and through us. Get involved in church! Don’t be deceived into going it alone.
