You Are The Light
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
These statements of Jesus require us to see ourselves through the Father’s eyes. Notice that Jesus says about us exactly what He says about Himself. We are to shine and be the same light to the world that Jesus Christ Himself was and is…and why should that surprise us? We are the BODY of Christ. So, don’t sell yourself short. Search the Scriptures, see what Jesus did and is doing now, then, go and do the same things.
