“…even as God…”

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

Forgiveness is a very important part of our lives. Everyone has had to face a situation at some time or another in his or her life where they were challenged with whether or not they would forgive someone for some wrong that was done to them. I want to challenge you to see forgiveness from an angle that you may not have considered. God the Father has forgiven us, not only for Himself, but for the sake of Christ. Jesus paid a price to secure forgiveness for us. The Father shows honor to what Jesus did by forgiving us. We are to forgive one another for the same reason; not just because we will hinder our receiving God’s goodness, but because we want to honor what Jesus Christ did to obtain forgiveness for us all. I challenge you to take time to meditate on this.
