Little Things Lead To Big Things

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.” Luke 16:10

In the kingdom of God, it is the little things that carry so much weight. Jesus tells us in Mark the fourth chapter that the whole kingdom of God is likened to a seed being sown in the ground. This is why it is important for us to pay attention to the Holy Spirit and obey Him in the “little things.” If we will read the Bible closely with this in mind, it is amazing what we find. All throughout we see God attempting to prove the obedience of His people in the small things. Why is that? According to the principle that we read in Luke 16:10 this becomes the basis by which He is able to commit to us bigger things. A classic illustration of this is Israel after they left Egypt. As they began their journey, the Lord gave them some simple instructions regarding the food He prepared for them and how they were to gather it. They failed miserably as they did with many other things that were set before them. As a result, there was a generation of people that could not step into the Promised Land. Folks, we really need to hone in on listening to the Holy Spirit and the simple instructions from the Word. If we desire to be entrusted with more from our Father, then we need to start by being diligent about the “little things” that He sets before us.
