Follow The Father’s Example

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

During this season and on this day that we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we need to look closely at the example that our Father has set for us and then follow it. The Scripture teaches us that the Father expressed His love for the world by giving; giving the best and “one of a kind” that He had. The motive involved in His giving was love expressed through His desire to see someone else blessed. Our giving should be motivated by the same desire, and even at times, the very best that we have to offer. On the day that Jesus Christ was born into this earth, we see perfect love and perfect giving going into effect. There was not one selfish thing about what He did. When we give, let’s get beyond giving because we want the recipient of our gift to give back to us. Let’s give out of love and service because we truly want to see the one that we give to get the full benefit or our gift. Let’s follow the Father’s example and give for the sake of the recipient of our gift being blessed.
