AUGUST 30

 Build One Another Up

“Let no foul or polluting language, nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk [ever] come out of your mouth, but only such [speech] as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace (God’s favor) to those who hear it.” Ephesians 4:29 The Amplified Bible

We are charged by the Lord to look out for one another in our speech. This same fourth chapter of Ephesians tells us that the body is responsible for the edifying of itself in love. One of the greatest ways that we build one another up, or tear one another down is by our words. If we use the power of the spoken word properly, we can build one another up so high that nothing will be impossible to any of us and hence, to the body of Christ. Think of some good things that you can say to the people around you today, especially to those in your family and to those in the body of Christ. You might be surprised at how much of a difference you may make.
