Destined To Win
“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.”
2 Corinthians 2:14
What a word! We are told to give thanks to God because He always causes us to win, “in Christ.” In Christ is the key to understanding God’s thinking here. The victory of Christ over everything satanic, in His resurrection from the dead, is the basis for our victory. Our victories are already won because Jesus already won; and He was and is our Representative. So, the victories that God is talking to us about are not based on our conduct, our merit or anything that we have done to attempt to gain favor or approval from God. They are based totally and completely on the finished work of Christ. Our response is to be that of thanksgiving, faith and obedience so that we may appropriate what is already ours “in Christ.”
