Keep Hope Alive

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

The New Testament word for hope is a word that means “confident and favorable expectation.” Many times it is used in reference to our future bodily redemption and the end promises of our redemption. However, the same principle of hope is for us as we live in this present world. Hope’s part in its work in us in our life of faith is to help us with our expectation of good and favorable things coming to pass with our lives. If a believer has no expectation of God’s goodness in his or her life for the right now, it becomes very difficult for that believer to receive what God has promised. Hope has to do with what we confidently see inside of us concerning the Word coming to pass in our lives. This hope comes from feeding on the Word, hearing the testimony of others and trusting God’s love to us in the keeping of His promise to deliver in our lives.
