DECEMBER 30: Be Aware of The Tenses

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3

In this New Covenant there are some small, subtleties that we must remain conscious of because of the role that they play in the accuracy of our prayers and in our standing in faith and in our proficient receiving from the Father. We must renew our minds to the tenses in which certain things are written to us in the New Testament. The redemptive work of Christ is a finished work; nothing can be added to it neither can anything be taken away from it. That speaks volumes to us. It tells us that everything that we could ever want or desire that is good in this life has already been paid for and accomplished in the finished work of Christ. His resurrection from the dead declares that. Basically, that is telling us that we are not trying to be blessed, nor are we trying to get the Father to bless us. WE ARE ALREADY BLESSED! Our approach to receiving or appropriating our blessing is to approach the Father with thanksgiving in these areas of blessing. Not seeing and understanding little things like this become detrimental to the accuracy of our prayers and our receiving what the Bible says is ours. I want to challenge you today to become acutely aware of the past tense as seen with regard to our blessing and position in Christ in the New Testament. This slight adjustment in your focus will revolutionize your vital life in Christ.
