DECEMBER 15: No Longer Mere Men

“For you are still [unspiritual, having the nature] of the flesh [under the control of ordinary impulses]. For as long as [there are] envying and jealousy and wrangling and factions among you, are you not unspiritual and of the flesh, behaving yourselves after a human standard and like mere (unchanged) men? 1 Corinthians 3:3 The Amplified Bible

Do you realize that the Bible teaches us that as born again people that we are not mere natural men and women? We are supernatural. Because of the life of God that is inside of us and because of our status as the new creation, we are now partakers of the divine nature of God. Our primary realm of function and operation is the kingdom of God, the realm of the Spirit, where God lives and resides. And we are called and commissioned to live out of that realm even though we are still here in the earth. We can live in this earth realm by the principles of life that govern the spirit realm. This particular Scripture teaches us that living in strife, envying and division will relegate us to the natural realm and take us back to a life of living like mere, unchanged men. That being said, then the opposite must be true; if we will live in love and harmony, we have the potential to live in this realm as supernatural men and women, manifesting the life of God, the divine nature. Let’s make it our aim to stay out of envying, strife and divisions so that we can help each other and the rest of the world by manifesting the life of God.
